R.Sanches and S.Calvert recognized their mutual zeal for visual communication potentials near the end of the twentieth century, and set conspiring immediately, reconceiving them for the twenty-first. Keying into an ambient sense of bemused, sometimes hysterical dread amidst the plenum of ironies nacent in late-industrial culture, they catalyzed an erratic ritual of marathon discussions invoking grand visions of print and web collaborations... perhaps it can be said that they drink too much on these occasions, but a solid friendship developed, and as years roll on, the ambitions persist…

Rodney’s hysterically scripted and exquisitely designed books and ephemera are valued as some of the most rare and collectible items in the Calvair library… Sanches’ comically incisive economy of language and infectiously jovial wit is always insightful, invigorating and endearing.
