STEVE CALVERT - TEXTS
COLLECTIONS

Blood Debts, Vectors of Contagion, Credits, Thanks and Attributions

Periodically, across the years, EventsVortical has prepared condensations of highlights from the ongoing notebooks. Transcribed and inscribed again from hand written quotations, receptions of the transmission, encyphered again into passages of electronic text, the words losing all origin and context, entering a process of selection, imperfect repetition, erosion, reassembly - shuffling under magnetic compulsions to form, as meaningfully as possible, some coherent reinscription of the ouija-bot zeitgeist-crawler of the contemporary english virus - a transcribed slice of all I'd been able to contemplate, take down, and later recollect in that season... decompiling, recomposting the base material of thought, language breaks back into itself - literal mycelial de/re-materializations of the thought process --- deliberately excising authorship and attribution, to diffuse all relative authority including that of the assumed author, for instance. Reading as the organ of aesthetic sensitivity, of a rationalizing sensibility. All art is thusly participatory. Reader reappropriation is the essential feedback vector of language in culture - ideas must repeat themselves to survive - phrases awkwardly errantly re-membered, thoughtforms recirculated through ears, eyes, neural ganglia, and fingertips, by one means or another, arriving in the world again, here, in these and these steaming heaps.

In the past the Lateral Vector has preferred to sign it's text works as pseudonymous multiplicities, defering any assignation of personal authorship -- there is however always a respect and an ongoing interest in transmitting and chronicling the true names of exceptional and elegaic voices speaking in each period's available data-cloud. In the interest of simplicity in presentation, all excessively complicating and verbose explicatory passages have been trimmed from the current presentations of the texts, which are as otherwise presented, misleadingly attributed to S.Calvert, under the ambiguously direct title ' TEXTS' - listed and linked at page right. S.Calvert must clarify the misassociation, as a gesture of personal accountability, and repeat that 'I am' not the true 'author' of these 'texts', but only one in an infinite precession of assembleurs... That is, by all means, recompile as pleasure dictates...

All available points of authorial references, elsewhere excised, are so presented here:

On Simulacra: A ‘Patabolic Study of Drawing Machines

A plagiarist assemblage paratactical text
sifted and reassembled by the Events Vertical Incorporation
1999-2000 - remodeled in february of 2007

The 1999 Events Vertical collaborative incorporates, appropriates and thoroughly lives along side of the thoughts and lives of innumerable individuals - for those whose names are known, and most emphatically for the unnameable, the author extends his fullest gratitude and solidarity:

this research was developed and conducted from 1994 to 2001 by Wynn Laverso, Veste Catverl, Lars Avenyne, and elements of the Events Vertical assemblage which prefer not to be named, these also enumerated as Steve Calvert.  Much of the the text to follow is appropriationist and plagiarist, in tactic.  Therefor, it should be noted, this document may contain traces of the following myriad, beyond the translator’s prologue and credits.

ATCG is being continuously recompiled thru 2000 and 2001 as an investigative study and discontinuous rumination on the collection of graphical productions process I have developed and coined with tongue in cheek, Xeroglyphy.  This aphoristic accompanying text is designed to be fractalline, holographic, redundant, and paratactical in keeping with the rhizomatic system articulated by the feedback system itself.  Explorations in the visual affect of these machinic procedures describes the primary apparatus of this artistic practice.  In this regard, these relentlessly infolded appropriationist assemblage texts are intended to accompany in an explicatory and added illustrative, para-poetic, function.

In as such, copious joyful props are due also to the innumerable spontaneous collaborative cognitive discussion and drawing ensembles our immediate community of cultural participants and zeitgeist/weltanschauung, generative transmediated interambient collectivities of dream-consciousness, penetrating the real… To all other asynchronic intellectual and conceptual contributions instantiated throughout the duration of this experiment,: our encounters will have been manifold, mysterious, and joyously ingratiating - each contact has been appreciated in support of the fruition of this project – so, for those with and without connaissance of their meaningful influence…

The Middle Worlds - 2002

Section One of Five: DEVICES: 01 - 19
Devices is a recombinant text, the product of an irradiating synthesis of combinatoric models: compiled from initial hand-notation, refiltered and recomposed under a host of ridiculous pseudonyms, each eluding to Steve Calvert - who takes no personal credit nor responsibility for the text contained herein, save as arbiter for the processing and assembly itself. The opinions voiced in no way reflect the consensus opinions of the Intermission Artists Society, nor of the Events Vertical Assemblage.

Section Two of Five: PLATITUDES: 20 – 32
On the themes of language, art, and the generative system of attention. Orgiastic portraits of structural violence in a hyperspace without atmosphere: ... on Thinking a Mimetic Teknike. Assemblage text reappropriated from the notebooks of Steppin Lotus, Stavrogin Kirilov, Sven Verticale, and Trente Velasce. Researched and compiled by SageWyn Caloric, Steppin' Lotus St. Laverca, and Esteban LacVerite. Each chapter is accompanied by original drawing-machine illustrations by EventsVectorVertical, 2002-2004 Copyleft Auxin Plagiarists Syndicate, Vancouver 2002-2004.

*sections three and four redacted by Discretionary Oversight Committee.

Section Five of Five: OBSTACLES:  68 – 95
A Plagiarist Assemblage Text. All passages to follow will contain extensive quantities of uncited, unsourced, otherwise uncredited language material, decontextually plagarized and liberally airbrushed back together as part of the assembleur's own cognitive process.  The text remains open to its readers.  Reprocessing encounters with the lives and words of the following honourable thinkers - with many thanks to all participants in the meme pool - onward ho the free proliferation of virulent discourse:

All illlustrations are collaborations between Steve Calvert and some Feedback Engine or another.  Several images included here are also collaborative drawings involving Corey any number of collaborators who will be cited wherever possible. All remaining illustrations are original artworks of Steve Calvert in collaboration with his coterie of automata and drawing machines. PATAPHYSICS - 2005

Miasmic Striation:

A ‘pataphysical speculation.

Procedural plagiarist assemblage textes by Events Calvair

First Enscribed 2005, Trans-Compiled 2006

The following is a plagiarist assemblage text, transcribed,, sorted recompiled, and composited from personal notebooks written throughout the year of 2005 by Steve Calvert.  Editorial reassembly by Stavrogin Kirilov, Steppin Lotus, Neway  St. la Verca, Auxin, the Locust, Esteban Calverde, Sephirot Wynn Szara, with the gracious production assistance of TeeVeeSee and Events Verticale.  This late edit features additional introductory notes on the Nova-type cutup technique, wherein the contents of two justified columns of related print material are interwoven by linking their lines across  the fold of the page, charging the outgoing text with new and strangely profound lateral-associative depth.  It is intended to accompany a collection of drawings to be reproduced as a ‘graphic novel’ of sorts, materializing immanently…

Contents may contain traces of the following:

Lynn Margulis, Susan Sontag, Sadie Plant, Carey Wolfe, Manuel Delanda, Duncan Blewett, Buckminster Fuller, Daniel Pinchbeck, Jeremy Narby, Wade Davis, JC Lilly, Gary Zukav, Alphonso Lingis, Robert Hare, Niels Bohr, Ken Kesey, Andre Breton, Herbert Marcuse, Anise Nin, N.Katherine Hayles, Nicklaus Luhmann, WB Yeats, Wolfgang Von Goethe, Giyatri Spivak, Christian Bok, Ben Okri, Donato Mancini, Christopher Dewdney, Steve McCaffery, Scott McCloud, Frances Huxley, Eckart Tolle, Alan Watts, Henri Breton, Martin Luther King, Carl Jung, George Lucas, Bruce Sterling, Francis Bacon, Mark Taylor, Roger Callois, Jaques Derrida, Khan Lee, Natalie Purschwitz, Mark Brady, Igor Santizo, Yuriko Iga, David Rimmer, Matt O’Donnell …

…in addition to any and all unnameable disembodied voices swarming the zeitgeist; wherever their words may have moved the hairs of my ears or enshadowed my retinas, strobing signal across the interstice if history:  for all who speak or have spoken the language; All my relations…
